Boys 10 - High SchoolThe purpose of Avery Johnson Basketball Camp is to teach the fundamentals of basketball while also stressing the importance of hard work, a positive attitude, sportsmanship, and team play. We want our campers to have a GREAT time while also becoming better players and better people during their time with us.
Each camper will have a chance to enjoy our beautiful campus and facilities while receiving individual instruction from some of the top basketball coaches in the region. Each camper will receive a personal evaluation from his camp coach as well as a camp t-shirt, a camp ball, and a picture with Coach Johnson.

Sign-In
Sign in and Registration for Overnight Campers will be in the lobby of Mary Burke Hall from 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday, June 17.

Camp Bank
Our staff will run a camp bank so that campers will not have to keep up with their own money during the week. At our Camp Store, campers will have the opportunity to purchase an assortment of snacks, drinks, and gear. Any money left over at the end of camp will be paid out in full at check-out.

Facilities
Camp activities will take place in three locations: Coleman Coliseum main floor, the Men’s Basketball Practice Facility, and the University Recreation Center. All courts are hardwood and fully air-conditioned.

Meals & Housing
Campers will eat meals inside Coleman Coliseum provided by a variety of local vendors. Boarding campers will reside in Mary Burke Hall.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
There will be an administrative fee of $50 for all cancellations, with the remaining balance being refunded in a timely manner. Please also note that any service fees associated with online registration are non-refundable.

Staff
Coach Avery Johnson will be assisted by the entire Alabama Basketball staff. Other camp workers will include UA team members, former Alabama greats, and some of the best high school and middle school coaches in the Southeast.

Medical Staff
An athletic trainer is on duty at all times in all gyms, and doctors are on call. Any medications should be left with a trainer, and any medical needs or concerns should be communicated to them as early as possible. Because of the rigorous schedule, each camper should be in good physical condition.

What to Bring
Each overnight camper must provide his own bed sheets, blankets, pillow, towels, and toiletries.
All campers should come to camp in basketball gear: athletic shorts, t-shirt/jersey, socks, and shoes.

Keys
All overnight campers will be provided with a room key that must be turned in at the end of camp.
Lost room keys will result in a $50 charge.

Roommates
Overnight campers are encouraged to request a roommate at the time of registration. The vast majority of dorms rooms used are doubles. Campers who do not request a roommate will be assigned a roommate of the same or similar age.

Supervision
There will be camp coaches staying in the dorm, supervising the campers at all times. The camper-to-coach ratio in the dorm will be about 5:1. In addition, there will always be one Camp Commissioner who is also a UA Men’s Basketball staff member staying in the dorms.
